Doris Rice Painting Adventure
One Day Workshop: Do you have a face that you love... in the four legged realm?
Watercolor Portrait of Your Own Pet / Animal of Your Choice
Saturday, March 29, 2025 from 10am-4pm
The Kittery Art Association Art Hub (Lower Level Studio Space)
Focus on techniques in watercolor: wet in wet, how to create fur textures, light and shadow. Capture the image of your pet or favorite animal!
In this all day workshop, you will be introduced to a step-by-step painting process that will take you from selecting the subject, capturing the image in preliminary sketches, composing shapes and selecting colors to show the emotions and then working on the painting to completion paying attention to carefully selected details. We’ll talk about materials and techniques, but the focus will be on the basics of painting: composition, value relationships, color contrasts, edge variety, and details. An emphasis will be placed on proper seeing, and on understanding and manipulating what is seen.
