Bill Paarlberg: Beginning Watercolor
Saturday, March 22nd from 9am-12pm
The Kittery Art Association Art Hub (Lower Level Studio Space)
Have you tried painting in watercolor but didn’t really know how to start? Or become frustrated because you’re not used to using a brush or palette or watercolor paint? This class starts at the very beginning, with how to use a brush to grab water, how to use your palette, how to mix paint, and how to use your brush to make basic marks and washes. Everything will be demonstrated step-by-step, in simple language, and with one-on-one help. Everything will be basic and easy to learn, and will give you the confidence necessary to continue learning and painting.
Bill Paarlberg grew up in Hampton, New Hampshire and now lives in Kittery Point, Maine. His earliest memories are of the excitement of making artwork. In the 1980s he drew many pen and ink scenes of Portsmouth scenes, which have morphed into the Famous Monsters of Portsmouth series. He likes to paint in watercolor, especially outdoors. He is on the board of the Kittery Art Association. You can see his work at the Kennedy Gallery in Portsmouth, NH, and online at www.paarlberg.com.
