Watercolor Journey
Two Day Workshop With Margaret Dwyer
Tuesday, August 6th & Wednesday, August 7th from 9:30am-1:30pm
The Kittery Art Association ART HUB (Lower Level Studio Space)
Breathe new life into your watercolors by trying a more organic way to begin and finish paintings. This playful workshop combines experimental techniques alongside traditional ones to create unique results. The process begins with loose washes and unusual staining techniques on quality watercolor paper. The results are always surprising and offer opportunities to develop your image in different directions. Based on what you see, what will inspire your next move? The possibilities are limitless, and the results will be different for everybody. The images are brought to completion with traditional techniques and compositional choices. Draw when you need to, or not at all. Sometimes adding a simple shape or realistic detail can be just enough to compliment the world that you have created. This process-oriented way of working will not only develop your watercolor skills, it will also push your imagination and strengthen your personal, artistic voice.
Demonstrations and individual help will be ongoing throughout the workshop. An overview of color choices, techniques, and composition will be covered. Painting samples and visual references will be on hand to help support your ideas. You will leave with new creative methods that will inspire you as you move forward on your watercolor journey.
Registration Fee: $150/person
