The Marcia Abigail Ryder Scholarship Fund at the Kittery Art Association (KAA) has awarded two $1,000 scholarships to the following outstanding 2018 Traip Academy graduates: Paige Matthews and Karissa Kagiliery.

KAA Board President Deborah Cotter and fund supporter Roger Cole congratulated the award recipients.

Karissa will attend the New Hampshire Institute of Art, where her art portfolio was selected by the institute to serve as an exceptional example for incoming students. Karissa intends to pursue a degree in education and become an art teacher.

Paige was accepted into the pre-med program at the University of New England and intends to “combine art and science to improve people’s lives.”

Since 2008, the Marcia Abigail Ryder Scholarship Fund has granted over $25,000 to assist Kittery students in pursuing their creative interests. The Fund is supported by the art association and from generous private donors.

Donations to the Marcia Abigail Ryder Scholarship Fund ensure that KAA will continue to provide funding for Kittery’s students to explore their creativity. To donate to the fund, please contact KAA.

The KAA Gallery, located in scenic Kittery Point, Maine, sponsors a variety of public events including art exhibits, music, poetry, guest lectures & art receptions.
