Scholarships Awarded to College Bound Artists
This May, in spite of the current tough economic environment, donations to the Marcia Abigail Ryder Scholarship Fund remained strong, making it possible for KAA to award three $1000 scholarships to deserving Traip Academy students. All three students are were selected by their teachers on the basis of their high school achievement and future goals and are pursuing further education in their specific fields of endeavor.
Stephanie Auger has taken her prolific and colorful portfolio of art with her to the New England Art Institute, where she is focusing on developing her photography talent.
Alex Clyatt, writer, director, actor, songwriter, guitarist and philosopher is pursuing a metamorphosis of his many talents at Emmanuel College.
Dylan Schwartz-Wallach is expressing his artistic and larger-than-life theatrical talents on the stages of Carnegie Mellon University.
All of you who have contributed to the Marcia Abigail Ryder Scholarship Fund should feel proud of your support of these deserving artists. All the recipients have found it difficult to adequately express what this money means to them. The true success of this program can be recognized in statements from these young people who look forward to giving back to others in the future when they have the resources to do so.
